Bringing Seamless to Life: Our SPF Primed Fascia Posts on the Planer

Last week was one of those milestone moments in the shop—the kind you remember because everyone stops to watch. We ran a fresh batch of our Seamless Fascia Posts (SPF) through the planer, and the reaction from the crew said it all. Seeing engineered timbers come off the machine smooth, straight, and—wait for it—hollow-core had a few double-takes and a couple of “whoa, that’s clean” grins from the operators. It’s not every day you see a post that looks like solid timber but doesn’t carry all the weight and headaches that come with it.

What Makes These Posts Different

Our Seamless Fascia Posts are built to deliver the solid-timber look with engineered performance. The hollow core keeps weight down for easier handling and install, while the engineered layup helps the posts stay straight over time. On the planer, that combination really shows: crisp edges, consistent faces, and near-invisible joint lines that set a high bar for appearance.

Quick specs

  • Species: SPF

  • Sizes: 6×6 (5.5") and 8×8 (7.25")

  • Lengths: Up to 12'

  • Finishes: Smooth or Rougher-Head

  • Applications: Outdoor fascia posts on porches, deck covers, and other weather-exposed uses

A Finish That Works as Hard as the Wood

Every post is factory-primed with an exterior-grade acrylic latex primer designed for weather-exposed applications. We chose this system for three reasons:

  1. Adhesion & Coverage: Acrylic latex grips evenly across the engineered surface, giving you a uniform base for paint.

  2. Moisture Resistance: It’s formulated to stand up to the elements—an ideal first line of defense before your topcoat.

  3. Jobsite Speed: Arriving primed means fewer prep steps on site and a cleaner, more predictable finish.

The result: a clean, consistent surface that accepts topcoats beautifully and helps your final color really pop.

Why Builders Are Switching

  • Faster Install: Lighter weight means easier handling and quicker placement.

  • Consistent Look: Seamless faces and near-invisible joint lines deliver a premium appearance without the site-built fuss.

  • Stays Straight: Engineered construction helps resist twisting, cupping, and checking over time.

  • Jobsite Friendly: Factory-primed posts arrive ready for paint, keeping schedules moving.

Where They Shine

  • Covered porches and entry columns

  • Deck covers and pergolas

  • Exterior architectural details that call for a clean, solid-timber aesthetic
