Seamless Full Sawn Cedar + Semi-Transparent Stain
We get asked from time to time about colour variation in our Seamless Full-Sawn Cedar Timbers — and it’s a fair question.
Cedar is a natural material. We colour-match our timbers as closely as possible at CureWood, but real wood will always have some variation.
To address this properly, we ran a simple test using semi-transparent stains from Behr Paint Company. Even the lightest stain tones blended any minor colour differences immediately — while still letting the grain and character of the cedar show through.
CureWood x Behr:
When builders and designers choose cedar, they’re choosing a natural material — and that means variation will always exist before finish is applied. The goal isn’t to eliminate that reality, but to work with it intelligently.
By engineering our Seamless Full-Sawn Cedar Timbers at CureWood, we start with tight material selection and controlled manufacturing to reduce extremes before the product ever leaves the plant. From there, semi-transparent finishes — like those shown here from Behr Paint Company — do what they’re meant to do: unify tone while preserving depth, grain, and texture.
The result is a timber that installs cleanly, finishes predictably, and ages the way real cedar should — without the common headaches of splitting, checking, twisting, or post-installation surprises.
This is engineered cedar designed for real jobsites, real timelines, and real expectations — where consistency matters, but authenticity still leads.
